leaping over the fact that what you wrote is beautifully written. and that counts in these times where language is being coopted by lies and manure bravado. It is helpful and true. And so hard to actually wrap the mind around the cruel and inept people wielding power. thank you again and again for your words

Thanks for this beautiful piece, Abby. As a military veteran, I am appalled by the preening and strutting by the both military and civilian leaders. This is not a fucking movie or a video game. People are dying, and there is no end in sight. I don’t know whether to weep or throw up, so maybe I’ll do both then go sit on my cushion.

One of your finest pieces. I would add, that in addition to poetry, music is something that soothes.

This is your moment, Abby. I prize your insight.

Well done, Abby.

As a Vietnam Veteran, Helicopter Pilot, I observed during two tours, the atrocities inflicted upon that beautiful country and its people. And the United States continues to do such cruelty.

Keep up the good work, My Friend.

Abby, this is magnificent. Trump and Miller are madmen. People throw around narcissist in a colloquial sense, but look at the DSM for mental

health and you will see he meets all 9 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder—and you need only 5 for that diagnosis. The 25th amendment is the way to go. Impeachment carries too much baggage for both parties.

Such a strong piece. Thank you for presenting it in terms of poetry. And thank you for your own poem. Very powerful.

This is a war of fools who are playing video games using million dollar toys. It shows again the incredible danger of the feckless Donald Trump administration. That his secretary of defense does not know what constitutes a war crime says everything you need to know about what is happening in the world.

Our task is to show up on Saturday March 28th at the No Kings rally near you in PEACEFUL PROTEST. If there isn't one go find a busy street corner and stand there with a sign. The goal is to reach 12 million people - 3.5% of the population.. The last No Kings was 7 million. If each of you who attends this time brought one new person we would exceed the 3.5%.

We need to ROAR.

I heard some strange sounds as I read your article. Perhaps they were strains from "The World Turned Upside Down," which General Cornwallis played as he surrendered to General Washington at Yorktown. Our country has veered off its axis in this year of national birthday celebration and is obviously now upside down.

We must stop this madness which you so ably describe and regain the social, economic and political fabric of the Great Society, with adjustments blunting our own Arrogance of Power as urged by Senators Eugene McCarthy and Frank Church(The Last Honest Man). It is probably too much to also ask for the ultimate irony: Jack Smith returning to the Hague and prosecuting Trump, Hegseth and Stephen Miller for war crimes.

And speaking of poetry, how about having the poetic justice of suing Trump, his family of grifters and their group of mountebanks, and holding them accountable, for the millions and millions of dollars they have received from flouting their association with presidential power?

Yes, let's start there, Chuck. So much travesty; so little time.

Thanks, Abby, for this piece of writing and the images of the madness. Sad, true, necessary to read and hear.

Thanks also for the poetry. Devastating.
